The Hawthorne EcoVillage is an innovative demonstration project in North Minneapolis that can be replicated using best practices in community-based development, neighborhood revitalization and sustainable green building and landscaping.
Through this process we are transforming the Northside Home Fund's Hawthorne cluster into a green, stable and healthy neighborhood. HNC, Tree Trust, PPL our other supporters are empowering residents to design, create and maintain this project, which will become the first LEEDS certified development project in the country.
The Hawthorne EcoVillage is bounded by Lowry Avenue on the North, 4th Street on the east, 30th Avenue on the south, and Lyndale Avenue on the west.
This will create a model for more livable communities that are sustainable, affordable, and encourage vibrant lifestyles.
